In Nigeria, a wedding is much more than the celebration of joining the lives of two people into one. It is when two entire families join together as one and a Nigerian wedding is an all-out affair that is full of bright colours, toe-tapping music, and ancient traditions.

This was not the case at a Nigerian wedding ceremony on Saturday as the global pandemic (Corona Virus) reduced the wedding to an unbelievable number (for a Nigerian wedding).

Meanwhile, elsewhere, Donald Itsuokor and his fiancee, Mercy Chinukwue, made one of the toughest decisions of their lives on Wednesday. Punch Newspaper reported that their wedding (which was supposed to happen on Thursday) was postponed indefinitely due to corona virus outbreak in Nigeria. The groom, Donald Itsuokor said the decision was a tough one to take but he didn't want to risk the life of invited guest. He said;
"We don't know where people we had invited had traveled to and we don't want to put other guests at risk. Ultimately, we don't want to run a foul of the State Government's directive because even if we went ahead with the wedding, the Lagost State Government has set up a task force to enforce the ban on public gatherings and it's going to be embarrassing if they chased us out of the wedding venue. We have sent out the postponemment notice to family and friends"

The Federal Government of Nigeria through The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) continues to fight the epidemic that has brought the world to it's kneels in recent time. In Nigeria, as at 10:40 pm 28th March there are 97 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with 1 death reported.
